This is a topic close to my human’s and my heart as a year ago we lost my fur sister to cancer. It was a sudden and shocking diagnosis where one day she was fine, and then the next she started wincing when trying to eat her food. A trip to the vet led to a tumor being found in her jaw that was biopsied and led to us receiving the devastating news it was malignant- squamous cell carcinoma. At ten years old she was taken too soon, as are so many dogs and cats. It is pawesome to know there is more and more awareness about cancer in pets and research that has led to some treatments that have saved lives. My hope for the future is that more cures are found and there will be more dogs and cats with positive outcomes than ones who sadly leave for the Bridge.
